Golf hatchbacks are so played out! Everywhere you go, you see the same Golfs. The same colours, the same body style, the same wheels. Don’t you wish you could have a different kind of Golf?
Perhaps maybe a cabriolet so you could be different and drive with the top down. Maybe it would have a turbocharger too so it would be quite fast.
Good news, your dream has come true. The new turbocharged Volkswagen Golf GTI cabriolet is here on Non Status Contract Hire and its price starts from £29,310 for a six speed manual and £30,610 for a seven-speed DSG.
The new Golf Cabriolet is still powered by the same turbocharged 2.0-liter petrol engine found in the standard Golf GTI. With 207bhp, the cabriolet achieves 62mph from standstill in just 7.3 seconds with both the DSG and six-speed manual gearbox. Top speed for the DSG is limited to 146mph and 147mph for the six-speed manual.
The fuel consumption of the Golf GTI Cabriolet stands at 37.2mpg with the six speed manual and 36.7mph for the DSG manual. A CO2 emission for the manual cabriolet is rated at 177g/km and 180g/km for the DSG.
The external features of the hatchback GTI is carried over to the cabriolet. This includes the 18” alloy wheels, the sporty front grille with the trademark red outline and a rear diffuser finished with dual exhaust tips.
The interior of the car is beautiful as well. The seats are wrapped in cloth with leather also available as an option. Wrapped in leather, the familiar contrast red stitching also adorns the multi-function steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake gaiter.
Like the standard Golf Cabriolet, it takes 9.5 seconds for the electronically operated roof to fold away and it can be operated at speeds of up to 18mph.
You can definitely order the Golf GTI cabriolet now on Non Status Contract Hire and expect deliveries to start in July. But we think you should just wait for the new MX-5 to be released which will be cheaper and much more fun!
