Spotted being covered up at Vauxhalls Russelsheim base in Germany is the potential new Astra Convertible that has been floating around for a while now. It may have only recently been given the green light from the CEO but it looks like the development may be further along that first thought. From the spy shots it looks like the new drop top uses the same rear lights from the GTC Astra but other details such as the whether the folding roof will be made from fabric or be metal are still unknown. It wont be a two door though as they have stressed it will transport four full size adults in comfort. The speed of which the new Astra Convertible has been brought out has more than likely been slowed by the poor economy but with the three door Astra GTC already ready for production.
