
Nissans a record breaker.
Nissan have broke records in their production plant in Sunderland by staff as they made a tremendous 423,000 cars in 2010.
The home of the Qashqui crossover will soon begin making the new electric Leaf- and is the first in the UK to produce more than 400,000 vehicls in a year.
In an article by an expert Professor Garel Rhys He describes that the achievments by the plant are “remarkable” and attributes it to exceptional productivity due to efficient work practises. he also added “it’s performance during the rexession has lessons for all car manufacturers.”
Leader of the Sunderland City Councill Paul Watson said “We are immensely Proud of the progress and performance of the Nissan plant and its outstanding workforce over the last five years”
Since 2006 the workers at the sunderland plant have made more than a million of the famous Qashqais, making it the 9th best selling car of the year so far selling 20,000 in the UK.
Nissan opened the plant in 1986 and more that 12,00 jobs were created in the automotive sector of Sunderland.
