Since the coupe was introduced few years back in 2009, the much anticipated drop-top is finally here with a £150,000 price tag, almost £15,000 more expensive than its coupe counterpart.
It is powered by the same V12 Vantage Coupe and DBS engine. Coupled with a six-speed manual transmission, the 6.0-liter engine outputs 510bhp as early as 6500rpm and 420lbft of torque.
Aston Martin has also done a multitude of revisions to the VH-based chassis with a tweaked rear damper set-up. The front and rear damper has also been tuned and the rear spring gets a new design.
Weighing in at 1760kg, the drop-top weighs 80kg heavier than the coupe counterpart. Aston Martin gauges a 0-62mph time of 4.5 seconds making it 0.3 seconds slower than the coupe. That’s the price you got to pay for style, but the 190mph top speed is still the same.
Just like the coupe, the Roadster also has a ‘Sport’ mode button which, with a press of the button, the throttle response is sharpened and exhaust note becomes sportier.
There are some cosmetic changes on the Roadster though. The boot lid is redesigned with a more prominent flip to reduce lift at the rear and also so the car is more stable at high speeds. Carbon fiber detailing is also present on the front splitter, side mirror covers, tail lights and also side strakes.
The rear diffuser is also redesigned it now accommodates a big oil cooler mounted at the center, with two big exhaust tips peering out.
