Finally the Renault Clio 4 has been revealed and this September marks the debut of what seems to be the most important car in Renault’s reinvention. You can catch a glimpse of the car at the Paris Motor Show this September and through MSG Cars customers can look at a Car Leasing with Bad Credit option and still order a brand new motor.

The Renault Clio 4 is redesigned and apart from looking quite different from the model it will succeed, the Clio 4 also sits wider, lower and longer (about the three things most performance car enthusiasts would be glad to hear). Its platform is also changed. Its rear suspension system uses torsion beams and the front is taken care of by Macpherson struts.

According to Benoit Bouchard, the small car program director for Renault, the architecture of the Renault Clio 4 is upgraded intensively. The tweaked wheelbase and tracks added with an updated electrically-assisted steering system allows the car to steer more sharply, more precisely and increase driving performance.

The exterior design of the Clio 4 is designed to look different than the predecessor. It also marks as the first model in the lineup to receive the new face, with a bigger more in-your-face Renault badge, revise headlights and also grille.

The rear wheel arches draw their inspiration from the Renault DeZir concept and it just makes the car look a lot sportier and sexier.

Interestingly, the motive behind hiding the rear door handles in the C-pillars, according to Bouchard, is to make the car more desirable and to satisfy the people who prefer a three-door car instead. Now the five-door car looks like a three-door – double whammy. Sportiness and practicality all in one.

Realizing the steep pricing, Renault has also decided to take the price of the entry level Clio 4 down by around a thousand quids. The entry level three-cylinder model would cost £10,500 which should be enough to convince people to buy the Clio 4 instead of the Peugeot 208.

As the entry-level Clio 3 was criticized for having low-end interior quality, the cabin of the Clio 4 will be made to look a lot more up-market. All trim levels will get treated to the same dash layout and a 7” colour touch screen will be fitted as standard in mid-high spec models.

The infotainment system software, called the R-Link, is jointly developed by Tom Tom and Renault and it will also allow for a host of other features like internet connection and speech-to-text capabilities. Entry level models will get Bluetooth capability and radio/CD system.

The Clio 4 is also accompanies with a lot of choices of material finishes and coloured inserts which can be customized to match the exterior color of the car. The soft-touch rotary dials give the interior a more solid feeling as well as bringing up the brand’s appeal. Not one to skimp on passenger safety, Renault claims that the safety of the car will remain top notch.

Perhaps another factor to seriously bring up the appeal of the car is the efficiency of the engines, which Renault claims to be a class leader. The 0.9 liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and the 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine are the eco-friendly duo, both of which output 90bhp.

The Clio 4 will also be the first car to receive Renault’s new Energy TCe 90 three-cylinder engine, whose performance is claimed to equal that of a naturally aspirated 1.4-liter engine. The engine makes 90bhp and also 99lbft of torque. Fuel economy? If you had to ask, you wouldn’t believe it – 65.9mpg. Emissions make the car tax free, only 99g/km of CO2.

The 1.5-liter turbodiesel, which also makes 90bhp, has a significant torque advantage – whopping 162lbft. The even more economical Eco2 version with a taller gearing returns 88.2mpg and emits only 83g/km of CO2 which puts the Ford Fiesta Econetic to shame!

There also be a 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine on offer coupled to a six-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox as standard. The diesel variant has the same automatic gearbox as an option.

You can start ordering the car in October, which deliveries starting in early 2013 so Car Leasing with Bad Credit customers can look to get Pre-approved today with MSG Car’s instant decision application form.
