A new concept model of the Smart Fortwo city car has been patented and it will be called the Speedster. Featuring an impressive cut down windscreen area it seems to also be missing a roof so is looking quite like the previous Limited Edition options – the Speedster. If this sounds like something that floats your boat don’t get too excited though as it is a concept only and Smart have no plans to bring the model into production. On display at the Geneva motor show it will be powered by an all electric E drive drive train and have twin roll over hoops as part of the steel safety cell. Good news is that a new Fortwo model will be on-sale in 2012 and be a partnership with Renault with the Coupe and Cabriolet expected out first.
