Jaguars two seater roadster – the XE looks close to an imminent release with a prototype being spotted during testing close to the Coventry factory. Many have the opinion that the XE will be a modern version of the legendary E Type model and sit below the XK in the model range. Jaguar have high hopes for this compact two seater sports car though and fully expect it to be one of the brands biggest sellers worldwide with its canvas folding drop top roof and price tag in between the Porsche Boxster and 911. Jaguar have taken the XK’s chassis and spent some time modifying to produce a much shorter wheelbases area. Power wise it is thought that the newcomer will be fitted with a number of the V6 units alongside the 6 speed auto gearbox and that there will also be a high end performance model utilising the Supercharged R models engine and specification. Expect to be seeing a fleshed out model by 2012 and cars in showrooms for 2013 around the £40,000 – £50,000 mark.
