The Geneva Motor show next month appears to be the place to be when it comes to new car models and Mitsubishi are the next manufacturer to get in on the action with the world debut of its new Outlander model. This is now the third generation edition and has built upon the success of the previous versions and retained some of its more impressive features yet build upon its weaknesses. Mitsubishi will also for the first time provide customers with the option of a Hybrid version to offer CO2 emissions of under 50g/km and fuel economy of 140mpg which is far greater than the recent Toyota Yaris which claims 80mpg – go figure! The production Mitsubishi Outlander follows closely to the Concept version that was displayed at the Tokyo motor show and had the code name PX-MiEV II. On the seven seat interior Mitsubishi have played it safe and implemented some soft touch surfaces as opposed hard plastics and a new dashboard, multi function steering wheel and instrument cluster. Mitsubishi have increased the modern gadgets with a wide range xenon light system, duel zone air conditioning, electric powered tailgate, active cruise control system, collision avoidance system. There will be two engine choices – a 2.0 litre petrol MIVEC motor and 2.2 litre diesel option with both front and four wheel drive systems to select. MSG Cars can provide the funding for any new or used Mitsubishi in the UK on both Non Status Contract Hire and Sub Prime Car Leasing.
