Its Frankfurt time once again and the heavy hitting objects of desire are going to be on full show – especially from the home team manufacturers. Mercedes have a decent showing on display in the form of the all new SLK55 AMG with its impressive – yet thirsty 5.5 litre V8 engine. The new and improved two seater sports car get upgraded to what appears like a smaller version of the SL class and on the AMG special it has been treated to a hand built non turbo version of the same engine that is installed in the E63 AMG and CLS63 but with twin turbo chargers. The power is still aplenty on the trimmed down version with 416bhp and 398lb ft of torque but as yet no performance figures are available. Mercedes have added a strange Eco inspired feature that has been taken from F1 concepts and will shut down to just 4 cylinders when the demand allows it. One for the boy racers is the advanced exhaust system that has independent exhaust flaps that close when under 2000 rpm yet increase and create a decent exhaust note when the car is driven above this. Another first for the Mercedes Benz SLK is a diesel option and this will also be available to car finance customers later on this year arriving in 2012. The SLK 250 CDI has the 201bhp engine from other models and gives the car a similar pegging to the Audi TT as far as engine variations goes. All current Mercedes car models are available to be funded through MSG cars using one of our car finance or leasing plans including a car loan for bad credit facility.
