Lotus have designated an all new Racer model of the Lotus Elise with the name Lotus Elise Club Racer and it will feature at the Geneva show. It will be basically be a stripped out version of the Elise and has been designed for improved track day usage with an adapted chassis and reduced weight load. Lotus have also added a Sport mode to Lotus’s Dynamic Performance management chassis control and even an adjustable front anti roll bar. The 1.6 litre engine remains the same but you can spec to have the Club Racer Power Pack which adds an impressive 5 bhp! Fear not though as the Racer is a huge 25Kg lighter by the removal of the battery and the soft top roof – the changing of the badge for a decal saves 60g. Other items to be thrown in the parts bin includes the central locking, radio, speakers, insulation, carpets, passenger footrest, airbags and the mud flaps. Don’t expect change out of £27500 but for those considering this option and even if you have bad credit in the past MSG Cars can help.
