Looking for Non Prime cars? Alfa Plans New Car to Rival BMW 3-Series
Alfa Romeo is just a few months away from finalizing the form of the new Giulia saloon before it hits the showroom in 2014 and it will be available here for Non Prime car customers with poor credit too. With the BMW 3-series in its sights, the Giulia will be the first mainstream model to be launched following Alfa’s plan of revival.
First to arrive will be the front-drive Giulia (known internally, but final name is not revealed yet) followed by the Sportwagon. Prices should start at about £22,000 for the 1.4-liter MultiAir entry-level version.
There will also be a myriad of new and Alfa-exclusive turbocharged petrol engines on offer for the Giulia as well, including a revised 1750 TBi engine which was previously used in the 159 and Brera. For diesel fans, there will also be diesel engines.
The new Giulia has the Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series in sights and will enter into the compact executive market in Europe. This particular segment is still quite healthy, unlike the European D-sector market which is going on a downward spiral.
For the Giulia to be taken seriously, it will be underpinned by the highly sophisticated ‘Compact’ platform, 90% built with high strength materials such as ‘shear plate’ made of cast aluminum to brace the legs of the front chassis which in turn improves the rigidity of the car. This equates to better suspension and steering control.
The ‘Compact’ platform is the third edition of this architecture with the wider second generation underpinning the Dodge Dart and the Fiat Viaggio in the Chinese market. The third generation is revised from the one in the Dodge Dart to accommodate a longer wheelbase and possibly a thorough independent rear suspension.
The final look of the car, although criticized by the bosses of the Fiat Group, should be finalized this coming autumn. With the production process expected to begin in autumn, a lightly camouflaged version of the production car should be unveiled around mid 2013. Those with a poor credit rating can look to get approved from MSG Cars using our Non Prime cars funding option that still allows you to pick the vehicle yourself from the dealership you want.
