Honda has released images of its latest Hybrid CR-Z concept.
The Honda CR-Z Mugen has come from the Japanese arm of Mugen, and follows in the footsteps of the Honda Cr-Z Mugen created as a one off by Mugens European corporation. Honda says the car demonstrates Mugan’s capabilities of “function, style and ability.”
The CR-Z Mugen was first put on display at the Goodwood festival of speed last month. Like its European sibling, the motor is a one of concept with no immediate plans for production.
Honda are yet to release details about the CR-Z Mugen RR’s power train. The European version used a 197bhp-supercharged version of the standard CR-Z’s 1.5 litre petrol engine and electric motor hybrid set-up.
Dominating the exterior of the car is a large fixed rear wing and most of the bo0dy work, including the Bonnet, doors and rear tailgate- is made from carbon fibre.
The vehicle also features a race-developed suspension system and a full length carbon fibre underbody with a specially vented front bumper, also including 18-inch alloy wheels, four piston monobloc brake calipers and a Valencia orange pearl paint job.
