The VXR range from Vauxhall is up there with rivals Ford’s RS and Honda’s Type R specification and the latest model to grace our presence will be the next generation Astra VXR. Building upon the success that was created with the previous hot hatch VXR the latest option will utilise the all new GTC range from Vauxhall. Agressive styling is the flavor of the day as you can imagine and this means big air ducts, huge 20″ alloy wheels and even bigger bumper kit. The interior as can be expected will receive a set of decent high back sports seating with leather trim and plent of VXR detail throughout. The torque steer that was such a problem with the original monster has been addressed with the implementation of the HiPer strut setup and a mechanical slip differential will also hopefully help out traction too. Flexride dampers have been fitted and they are combined with a ‘VXR’ sports button that can alter the ride quality with the flick of a switch for improved ride handling at speed. Performance fans will be thrilled to head that the 276bhp Turbocharged 2.0 litre motor will be stopped with a set of Brembo brakes and at the rear will be the choice to add a twin deck spoiler to help keep the back end down.
