Vauxhall look set to generate some huge interest with the news that they are reviving the classic Calibra branding with an all new model using the badge. The word on the street is that that are considering basing the car on the Vauxhall Insignias platform and so it will more than likely be a two door coupe of the aforementioned vehicle and be in similar shape to the Vauxhall GTC Concept that was shown at Geneva in 07. The main areas of the new Calibra would be the reduction of the wheelbase of the Insignia platform to improve the Coupes handling along with using a four wheel drive set up on the top of the range models. As with other models in the Vauxhall line up we will also see a VXR model that will use the same 321bhp engine from the Insignia and manage to hit 155mph and 62mph in sub 6 seconds. Production will begin Oct 2012 and sales will then start during 2013 and with the Manta name also in the mix for a revival it could be an interesting few years for Vauxhall car fans.
